CHAPTER HISTORY

In the Spring of 1983, a group of 14 women met for the purpose of organizing an alumnae chapter in Tupelo, Mississippi. These 14 women were very willing to put forth all efforts to make this worthwhile endeavor a reality. These women met once a month, and at these meetings these 14 women brought forth their ideas and became more determined to increase the ranks and growth of the sorority. 

After going through the proper channels to establish an alumnae chapter, this group of women received an official letter on October 24, 1983 advising them that the application for a charter had been approved. On February 18, 1984, the Tupelo Alumnae Chapter was chartered and Southern Regional Director, Verdelle B. Bellamy, presided over the official ceremony. The hard work and dedication of these 14 women had finally paid off.
