Chapter President’s Message

Welcome to the website of the Tupelo Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 by 22 fierce and courageous college women with the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action being the sorority’s foundation. One of the organization’s first and most pivotal acts of service was participation in the Women’s Suffrage Movement in March of  1913. Our Chapter, The Tupelo Alumnae Chapter was chartered on February 18, 1984. Since chartering,  we have stood firm on the sorority’s mission and founding principles.

I hold it an esteemed honor and privilege to serve as the Chapter President for the 2024-2026 biennium.  It is my sincere hope to continue the legacy of the exemplary leadership of my predecessors as presidents. We will work under the theme “Elevating Service with Purpose and Sisterhood with Passion”. We will serve the community by providing engaging and insightful programs under our Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness  and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. A few of our signature programs are the Calendar King and Queen Revue, 13 Days of Service, and the Jessie-Nave Carpenter Scholarship. Our goal is to make a strong impact by empowering our community and  changing lives for the better.

I invite you to explore our website to learn more about the Tupelo Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we focus on being an agent of change for our community.

Yours in Service,

Keldja Whitfield, Chapter President
